The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 210 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances. There have been a lot of deaths and transmissions. For the reference of health care safety, there was an innovation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), medications, and recently PPE ISOLATION BOOTHS.
The concept of Isolation booth is invented by National Innovation Center. The chairperson of National Innovation Center is Mr. Mahabir Pun. Social activist and scientist.
Mahabir Pun who took initiative in preparing PPE in Nepal is leading the team to prepare PPE booths in different parts of the country. One example is for Nyaya Health Nepal/Charikot Hospital.
The team to prepare the PPE isolation booth consists of Er. Purna Raj Subedi, Er Sujan Shrestha with the support of Er Gaurav Das, Er Ritesh Dev, Er Sanjay Bahadur Thakuri, Er Sunil Baniya, Dr. Sushil Mohan Bhattarai, and Dr. Er Shankar Dhakal.
Financially, this is supported by the America Nepal Medical Foundation. The transport of the PPE booth from Kathmandu was supported by Dr. Ganesh Neupane from Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project.
Further coordination and support for the installation was provided by health care director ( Nyaya Health Nepal/ Charikot Hospital ) Dr Binod Dangal and Dr Reena Lamichhane who is leading PHCC Charikot and Dr Archana KC who is a resident surgeon at Bir Hospital. In Dolakha, this is the only booth received.
Dr. Binod Dangal said “The PPE booth will be used for taking Nasopharyngeal swabs to test for Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and to examine suspected cases of COVID-19 at the hospital”, Dr. Dangal has thanked Innovation center for supporting the booth and overall response of all involved team members.
