Three hundred and three citizens of 54 countries stranded in Nepal due to lockdown have returned to Paris on a Qatar Airways widebody flight from Kathmandu at 1 am on Saturday.
According to an official of Qatar Airways in Kathmandu, the flight chartered by the French Embassy in Nepal will go directly to Paris from Doha.
“After adding one hour of fuel to Doha, catering, and cleaning, the same ship will reach Paris again,” the official said. It includes citizens of Europe and South Africa, Israel, the United States, and Canada. Out of which, there are 303 passengers and 4 babies.
Qatar Airways has already flown 11 charter flights to Nepal. The passengers on the flight paid for the tickets themselves and the French government provided some grants, the official said.
