Four Chinese nationals have been charged with indecent assault on police. Forty-seven Chinese nationals staged a sit-in in front of Singha Durbar demanding their return home.
In the process, they attacked the police including DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet.
According to SP Somandra Singh Rathore of Kathmandu Police, the remaining 43 are being released after filing a case against them for indecent behavior under the Criminal Code Act 2074 BS.
The Chinese embassy in Nepal had also requested the police to take legal action against the protesters. SP Rathore said that embassy officials have also requested for legal action against the perpetrators.
Details are being verified by the police to release the 43 protesting Chinese. The remaining four are being remanded in the custody of the Metropolitan Police Complex, Singha Durbar, said SP Rathore.
